Hi! I'm Melanie King. I am a freelance writer.

 

My passion has been behavioral science, where I worked for over thirty years. Most of this was in the mental health field, and the rest was in the care of children.

​

While the mental health system required quite a bit of writing, most involved persuasive writing in the court system for children in conservatorship.

​

My love of words began when I first learned to read. Over the years, I’ve gone from reading other people's words to writing my own. 

​

I have decided to follow my passion for writing in the field I have been passionate about most of my life.

 

I have a bachelor's in Sociology from Texas A&M University ("Gig'em Ags!")

and a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management from Our Lady of the Lake University.

I currently live at home with my husband and two rescue dogs, all three supportive of my new venture.
